Alexis Guerin will ride his first race as a Bingoal WB rider at the Tropicale Amissa Bongo (23-29/01). The French athlete from Pau wants to improve his condition in Gabon and help our sprinters Alexander Salby and Karl-Patrick Lauk. The climber has a spring programme tailored for him. He is already looking forward to the Ardennes classics.
I am starting the season with great enthusiasm, with a group where everyone has their place and a very good feeling, where everyone has the same idea to make the team win.
Alexis Guérin. “I’ve had an excellent winter, without any physical problems and I am ready to start the 2023 season in the Tropicale Amissa Bongo. I am going to Gabon to improve the last details of my condition and to work with the team on strategy and collaboration in the race. I want to help our sprinters. The purpose is to be already in February with an optimal condition. After Gabon I will race the Tour of Antalya, where there will be some good opportunities. After that, there will be the Tour du Haut-Var, the Drôme Classic and the Ardèche Classic, the Trofeo Laigueglia in Italy. I should follow this up with a short altitude training camp before the Coppi e Bartali week, the Tour of Limburg and the GP de la Sarthe. Four important races of my spring will follow: the Flèche brabançonne, the Amstel Gold Race, the Flèche wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. I want to give the team my full confidence in reciprocity. At the end of year, I will say that my season will have been successful if I have won, if I have scored a certain number of UCI points which are essential to keep the team in a good position to enter the World Tour races. Personally, I have several moments in the season where I think I can win but I keep them in the back of my mind to avoid putting pressure on myself. I am a rider who, when he has reached his level of condition, can keep a constancy with a peak of form where it is necessary. I am starting the season with great enthusiasm, with a group where everyone has their place and a very good feeling, where everyone has the same idea to make the team win.”
